You’ve probably heard that there a few things you’ll need to keep your teeth healthy and strong. Similarly, you might know that there some things you’ll should be wary of if you want to keep your teeth healthy. For example, would you be surprised to hear that there are a number of drinks that could actually lead to oral health issues?

For instance, would you be surprised to hear that drinking alcohol might affect your pearly whites? In reality, alcohol could aggravate your gums. This irritation might even lead to several problems including gum disease, which could also cause serious issues. Furthermore, if your gums aren’t as healthy as they could be, they won’t support your teeth properly—which means your teeth might eventually fall out.

Other drinks, including coffee and tea, could actually cause problems. Sadly, each of these drinks might stain your pearly whites? If you can’t function without your daily cup of coffee, please stir in milk, which should help you avoid staining. Similarly, if you’re interested in drinking tea but are worried about staining, we suggest drinking a lighter tea.

Wine might also lead to staining. Generally, we suggest choosing white wine rather than red wine since it’s less likely to stain your smile. Still, please note that red wine might even reduce inflammation that could cause gum disease.

Finally, please remember that you don’t have to stop drinking your favorite beverages entirely.
